About The Role

We are working with one of New York’s most successful cloud-computing scaleups searching for an experienced engineer. They are a pioneering technology house looking for highly agile Java developers to work on a series of greenfield applications, with a flexible model of work on offer.


Company

This scaleup follows the Spotify model, so you will work on a variety of projects and have the option to choose where you focus your time. This company are exploring multiple avenues to extend their strong position in the market and technology investment is a key growth factor for them – and this investment also extends to the engineers they want to onboard. There is huge compensation available for the best engineers in the market!


Role

They are currently looking for experienced Java engineers to work across a number of projects which will involve zero legacy code, building highly distributed and scalable systems to deliver a range of secret products in an agile manner; some of which will completely revolutionise the cloud computing landscape! They want an engineer who will be comfortable overseeing the entire SDLC and taking autonomy of a project, implementing their own CI/CD. This is an opportunity for an engineer to oversee applications from inception to market launch.

The key technologies will be a Java focussed ecosystem, working with SpringBoot and Kafka, all hosted on an AWS cloud-native system. They are looking for individuals who want to implement and propagate agile practises such as TDD, pair programming, and follow lean principles – as they have found this agile approach to be conducive to their success and collaborative culture.


Requirements

  • Extensive experience working with modern versions of Java.

  • Commitment to agile methodologies as well as a passion for writing well-tested software using TDD and PP primarily.

  • Exposure to SpringBoot or Kafka, and AWS.

  • An engineer who has experience overseeing projects and building apps from scratch.

  • A team-player with great communication skills.
