Front End Engineer for AI systems advancing scientific discoveries.

About The Role

A globally-renowned AI tech-house committed to advancing science for human benefit is looking for experienced Front – End Engineers. They are currently embarking on a brand-new product release that requires the team to design, develop, and deploy web tools to help researchers visualize, understand, and showcase their state-of-the-art AI systems. As well as enhancing performance to enable the multi-dimensional exploration of large-scale data. As part of their commitment to democratizing technology, they are building out new opensource tooling using the latest opensource UI libraries/components. The team evangelizes collaboration using a cross-functional partnership to keep traction within the firm, making the program of work highly dynamic.

Required Technology:

  • 2+ years React/JavaScript

  • Exposure to open source UI libraries/components (e.g. Material-UI, Ant Design, Bootstrap React, fluentui)

  • Understanding of GraphQL

  • Exposure to UnitTesting, Git, and Continuous Integration/Delivery

Requirements:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Understanding of scalable front-end development (regarding performance and testing frameworks)

  • Experience collaborating with designers and other engineers to improve user experience

  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology strategies and best practice

Preferred Experience

  • A proponent of best practices: agile development, continuous integration, code review, unit testing and related approaches

  • Ability to gather user feedback and prototype new functionality

  • Understanding of full-stack development

  • Experience with Typescript or Flow
