The Company
This is a new, pioneering technology house funded by one of the leading financial institutions with the aim to challenge the market leaders by bringing bespoke innovative products to the market. Their first product – a new digital bank has already taken a huge chunk of the market share of the already established brands such as Revolut, Monzo and Starling and this is just the beginning with several greenfield projects still in the pipeline. Due to their current success, they are currently expanding at a rapid rate looking for the best technologists in the world to join them on their journey to becoming the next Big Tech firm.
The Role
They are building out their Java Backend Chapter to deliver multiple strategic greenfield solutions and platforms that will drive the business forward. They encourage all technologists to take responsibility for the entire software development life-cycle. They work in a bleeding-edge environment with the latest AWS cloud tools, Kafka and Agile engineering practises such as TDD, pair programming and a team structure based on the Spotify model.
Requirements
At least 3 years of recent hands-on experience of a modern JVM language (Java/Scala/Kotlin).
Academic qualification in a computer science or STEM-related field.
Understanding of microservices, REST APIs, cloud technologies, and a keen interest in working with opensource technology.
