About The Role
The most successful e-trading fixed-income Hedge Fund are looking for an experienced Java tech lead to head out and take ownership of a brand-new e-trading movement that is being built from scratch working with some of the most cutting-edge technologies on the market. They have just heavily invested £10 million within this core team to revolutionize the fixed-income space and cement themselves as the number 1 e-trading, fixed-income hedge fund globally.
Our client is seeking passionate technologists to join a highly focussed team to drive the build-out of their brand-new highly performant trading platforms. The completely greenfield project will completely redesign their Equities and Fixed Income trading platforms, which sit on the core Alpha platform, underpinning the entire firm’s revenue generation. This project requires expert engineers with a key understanding of the financial markets and high levels of communication to drive the build-out of this highly performant platform.
Expert proficiency in Java.
Database / SQL skills.
Great communication skills coupled with the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
A proponent of strong software engineering techniques and agile methods: continuous integration, code review, unit testing, refactoring and related approaches.
Proficient in working on both Linux and Windows platforms.
An excellent understanding of financial markets and instruments.
Experience with FIX a significant advantage.
Experience in front-office software and/or trading systems development e.g., in a hedge fund or investment bank.
Expertise in building distributed systems with service-based or event-driven architectures, and concurrent processing.
Experience with web-based development (TypeScript).
Relevant mathematical knowledge e.g., statistics, asset pricing, time-series analysis optimisation algorithms.
