About The Role

The Client

A $7 billion Hedge Fund is looking for an experienced Python Quantitative Developer to take ownership as one of the founding engineers of a brand-new algorithmic trading movement. As one of the most technology-oriented firms in America, this platform is being built from scratch using some of the most bleeding-edge technologies on the market. They have just heavily invested $10 million within this core team to revolutionize the equities and fixed income space and assert themselves as the number 1 algorithmic hedge fund in America.


The Role

Our client is seeking a passionate hands-on Python Quantitative Developer to lead a brand-new highly focussed team, driving the build-out of their brand-new highly performant trading platforms. Full ownership of this project includes building tailored tools, models, and analytics for the traders. The complete greenfield project will completely redesign their Equities and Fixed Income trading platforms, which underpin the entire firm’s revenue generation. This project requires expert Developers with a key understanding of the financial markets and high levels of communication to drive the build-out of this highly performant platform.


Required

  • Expert proficiency in object-oriented Python

  • Experience working on distributed systems

  • Solid SQL/RDBMS experience

  • Happy to develop and support all levels of the technology stack, including frontends, middleware, servers, and databases.

  • A proponent of agile methods: continuous integration, code review, unit testing, refactoring, and related approaches.

Advantageous

  • Experience in Java/C#/Javascript

  • Expertise in building distributed systems with service-based or event-driven architectures, and concurrent processing.

  • Relevant mathematical and commodities knowledge e.g., statistics, asset pricing, binomial model, supply and demand modelling.

  • Proficient in working on both Linux and Windows platforms.
