About The Role
The Client
Our client is an ultra-performant, tech-driven firm that is looking to continue its global success through a brand-new, truly unique initiative. They are searching for a driven Senior Data Engineer to take ownership of this project, pioneering the buildout of their market-leading core data platform, which will be provided to millions of end users.
The Role
The position focuses heavily on cloud and big data technologies, giving Senior Data Engineers access to the SDLC, with the opportunity to build out the company’s greenfield data lake, using bleeding edge data fabric and mesh techniques to process extreme quantities of data.
Senior Data Engineers will also have the opportunity to guide others from a technical perspective. As part of the company’s core architecture effort, engineers will have the opportunity to influence the structure of the data platform in both analytical and transaction processing areas, listening to stakeholders’ needs and implementing them into the platform to ensure the accurate following of the product roadmap.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of professional experience as a software engineer.
Advanced use of Java or Python.
Advanced experience with Kafka for data streaming purposes.
Commercial experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines.
Public cloud exposure (AWS/Azure/Databricks).
GPA 3.5 or above in BSc/MSc Computer Science, Physics or Math.
Agile processes & practices e.g. Scrum.
