About The Role
We’re currently working with a leading, tech-driven Asset Management firm, which is looking for a senior Python Data Engineer to join the engineering function for a new Data Science & Analytics division they have created.
This group faces off with the Data Scientists in the Front Office and has a direct impact on the bottom line. This technology function prospects new, cutting-edge data sources and integrates them into the current Data Lake, allowing the Data Scientists to create more efficient ML models and better trading decisions.
You’ll be joining a small group of data engineers to build a massively distributed data analytics platform, working with a host of modern Big Data tools to push/pull data across the entire firm. This is a senior role, looking for someone who can define the technical direction of the team and also comfortably face off to business stakeholders (Data Scientists and Analysts).
Required Skills
Minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in software engineering or data engineering
Strong Python and SQL programming skills
Good understanding of both SQL and NoSQL databases
Experience creating and implementing ETL data pipelines
Strong communication skills
Nice to have
Exposure to financial services and front office trading systems is beneficial but not necessary
Exposure to data modeling is beneficial
Salary range
$250,000 - $400,000 total compensation (base + bonus)
