About The Role
A globally renowned hedge fund is currently looking for a senior Ruby engineer to serve and join a critical X-Asset Trading Tech team.
This is a senior mandate for a senior tech-agnostic engineer to join a small specialized engineering team that services all trade processing and risk for the FICC business. Your work will have a significant and tangible impact on the bottom line of the firm, building bespoke software tools from scratch that are used daily by traders and have a rapidly growing set of end-users.
They are an exceptional tech-driven firm that truly values modern software and practices, so this is an opportunity to build a host of brand new applications from scratch with the latest in cloud and opensource tools. Most of the code is written in Ruby but the group always employs the mindset of using the ‘best tool for the problem at hand’, and also works with the latest versions of technologies such as Java, Clojure, JavaScript and Python.
Requirements
7+ years’ commercial experience as a software engineer.
Strong, demonstratable experience in Ruby.
Commercial experience with 1 other programming language – Clojure, Java, Python, JavaScript.
Previous experience in finance is beneficial but not required.
Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or other related fields from a top school
Salary:
$200,000 - $300,000 Total Compensation
