About The Role
We are working with a leading E-Commerce property scaleup who have recently secured 20% of the market share – making them the market leader in their industry! Following these successes, they’re looking to escalate their operations and onboard a senior UI engineer in a product-first role to help cement their strong market position.
Company
They are an E-Commerce company building out a series of platforms with a .Net and JavaScript/TypeScript heavy tech stack. After securing themselves as one of the UK’s favourite platforms and recently receiving a new influx of funding, they want to further build and expand on their successes.
The company is very big on collaboration and looks to use TDD and other agile methodologies where appropriate, encouraging their developers to take a passionate interest in the product at hand and understand their users. The founders are also technical individuals, and this technology-driven approach underpins the company’s approach and is clear from the impressive calibre of engineering.
Although now a renowned industry name, they still have a startup mindset and remain a tight and close-knitted team. Their flat structure prospers technical growth for all team members and has been conducive to their continued success. The interview process for this position attests to this, with key interactions with recent joiners, members of the operations team, and the CTO himself. They are leveraging this collaborative culture to improve their product and transform their industry for the better!
They offer flexible models of working and look for their employees to come into the office roughly 2/3 times a week but pride themselves on being accommodating. This is reflected by flexible start and finish times where necessary.
Role
This engineer would be only the second pure frontend hire in the team, working closely with the Lead Engineer who has been at the company for nearly 6 years. They don’t use set frameworks, rather they’re looking for a frontend agnostic who will have experience with React.js, Angular.js, CSS, HTML, TypeScript.
They are looking for a senior engineer to assist the to build out of new aspects of their core platforms and take a vested interest in the product by understanding client requests and user concerns. You will be responsible for the company’s UX features, so any experience in this field will be highly beneficial as you ensure that the best UI/UX practices are followed. They also want someone who will be happy to contribute to the company’s design portfolio too. The ideal candidate will therefore have a product and customer-centric mindset while assimilating the core platform with the business’ overarching goal.
This is a fantastic opportunity for engineers to take technical autonomy over their work and decide which technologies they use. This offers a bold next step by for engineers looking to improve their programming and architectural skills in a high-calibre environment!
